★Scissors Cut ふたたび
先日語った、Art Gerfunkelの曲「Scissors Cut」について、本家のJimmy Webbのやつも聴いとかなあかんやろと思い、アマゾンとかで探したが適当なのが見当たらず、思いもよらず谷村有美がセレクトしたCDの中に入っていて、安い中古CDを購入。

早速、聴く。
意外にArtバージョンも本家Jimmyバージョンも近いアレンジに感じた。
買ったArtのベスト盤のCDは輸入盤で歌詞カードが付いていなかったので、
[Scissors Cut lyrics] でググって歌詞を確認していた。

ハサミは紙を切り、紙は石を包み込み、されど石はハサミを壊すという
グー、チョキ、パーの３すくみの三角関係の状態を表したにしては、イタリック部の歌詞での、
we will miss herのweというのは何だかなあ…と思っていたのだが、
今回買ったCDには歌詞カードがちゃんと付いていて、その部分の歌詞を見ると

I hurt her and she goes and he will miss her
げっ！
何だ he って… 誰だよ he って！
登場人物は I（me） と You (you)と She (her) の3人ぢゃないのか！ごるぁ！
たしかにJimmy Webbは he will miss her と歌っているように聴こえる。
Artのwe は私の聴き取りでは少し怪しいが。
うーむ…と思ってさらにググっていたら

なんてバージョンを載せているサイトも発見した。
謎は深まるばかりなり…
